The Series 500 is a desktop style enclosure with an internal module depth of ~74mm - 126mm and available in the standard widths of 42HP, 84HP, 104HP, 126HP and 168HP. Other interim widths of 62HP, 146HP and 188HP are available on special order.
White End Cheeks are available to cosmetically enhance the appearance of the Studio 500 aswell as raise the metal boat off the work surface to prevent scuffing and scratching of both the work surface and the boat. With End Cheeks fitted you can fit a Studio LID as a deep lid.
This lid allows a semi-patched boat to be transported without the need to unpatch. Studio 500 Powered Desktops Our Studio 500 Powered Desktops offer a complete solution for housing your EuroSynth/EuroRack modules. They can be supplied in 'flat-pack' form (requires just a screwdriver and a nut spanner) or ready-assembled. Each Powered Desktop comprises:-
(*) The indicated number of busboards (both powered and passive) is the recommended minimum configuration offering good power capacity and plenty of, and easily accessible, module power outlets. Passive busboards may be replaced with powered busboards if extra power is required (the number of module outlets does not change). So, for example, the Studio 500 84HP could have 2x ED705 giving a load capacity of +12V @ 3A and -12V @ 2A with 24 module outlets. The Studio 500 has an option of having 2 rows of busboards (one under each 3U section rather than under the centre rails) which allows for a much larger degree of flexibility in the power distribution and module layout. This means you can more than double the loading capacities given in the table above. Each boat is fitted with a 4HP Power Panel which allows the external 15VDC supply to be quickly and easily connected and disconnected. The 4HP Power Panel also includes 'Power In' status indication and an ON/OFF switch. Having the external power connection on the front panel also means that during transport there are no external parts that can get knocked or damaged and makes loading the case into a tight space easier. An alternative to the Power Panel is to have a 'fixed connector' mounted on the back of the boat, you will loose the POWER IN status indicators and also the ON/OFF switch but gain and additional 4HP of module space. The available module space is thus:-
